Twitter to introduce enhanced brand pages?

Twitter is reportedly set to introduce enhanced profile pages that will allow companies turn their pages into brand platforms with ecommerce functionality.

According to Business Insider, which quotes a source, enhanced profile pages are part of Twitter’s product rollout plan for Q2.

In December, the micro-blogging site invited a number of companies to test new brand pages, including Coca-Cola, HP, Dell, Best Buy and American Express. While these pages have improved design, they do not have any additional functionality.

The Business Insider report reveals that the new pages may “give brands the ability to build platforms on their pages that could include iFrame environments, allowing users to play games or shop on a brand’s site without actually leaving the Twitter environment”.
